Activity Description

The Sella River canoe descent follows a beautiful 15 km route from Arriondas to Ribadesella and usually takes 3½ to 4 hours, including time to stop, swim, relax, take photographs, and enjoy the picnic provided.

If you prefer a shorter experience, you can finish halfway at Toraño, after approximately 7 km.

The river has gentle currents, making the route suitable for beginners. No previous canoeing experience is required.

Before departure, our experienced instructors will provide a safety briefing and explain the basic paddling techniques so you can enjoy the trip with complete confidence.

The descent is self-guided, allowing you to paddle at your own pace without having to stay with a group.

• Single, double, or triple canoe
• Paddle
• Life jacket (personal flotation device)
• Waterproof barrel for your personal belongings
• Picnic bag
• Wetsuit (when weather conditions require it)

• Access to changing rooms, hot showers, and toilets

End of the Route

When you reach the finish point, our staff will be waiting to take you back to our facilities in Ribadesella.

There you can use the changing rooms, enjoy a hot shower, and get changed before continuing your day.

Tips and Recommendations

For the best experience, we recommend bringing:

• T-shirt, shorts, or a swimsuit
• Sports shoes or water sandals
• A towel
• A complete change of clothes
• Sunscreen
• A glasses strap if you wear sunglasses or prescription glasses

The waterproof barrel provided is ideal for storing your towel, clothes, phone, camera, and other personal belongings.

For safety reasons, please avoid wearing watches, jewellery, necklaces, or bracelets. The company cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
