If you want to do the routes Cares, we will drive you to Cain or pick you up in Cain. In either option will do an interpretive guided tour throw the Central Massif National Park Picos de Europa.

We will starts up the engines of SUV 4×4 to take you for unexpected places of magic, charm, hard to reach and restricted areas of the National Park Picos de Europa, where you can enjoy with the beautiful views. Our driver who is interpretive guide will take you down paths that you never thought a car could go. The guide will tell you the customs and peculiarities in the life of the Picos de Europa.

We also have an option of full day route in which we reach slopes over 2,100 meters.

Suv 4×4 + Routes Cares: Cain – Poncebos “Picos de Europa”

Routes Cares is one of the biggest spectacles of nature of the Picos de Europa.
For a long time was the main communication via of all residents in this area. With our 4 × 4 vehicles, we offer you the possibility to reach the restricted areas of the National Park Picos de Europa. The places are of extreme beauty and there are accessible only with these types of vehicles, led by experienced local guides who will narrate you the characteristics and history of each place. These tours are designed for people of all ages and physical conditions.

Normally to do this route, there are 2 options:

a) to be able to walk in the opposite direction 12 km ( it is very long and repetitive).
b) have a vehicle waiting for you the way back.

We can and pick you up when you finish the walking route.

1.- 1. Route

Depending where are you staying, there are 2 possibilities:

“Pick up in Cangas de Onis” 39 € / person

10:00 H pickup in   Cangas de Onis. Other areas consult.
10:00 to 14:00 H Path Cangas de Onis – Cain + ROUTE 4 × 4 by Oseja Sajambre (Forest Vegabaño).
Pass by the Mirador of Tombo and Chorco de los lobos( an old trap for wolves)
14:00 H Arrival Cain (Optional lunch) to start ROUTE CARES [unguided hiking trail]
Route: Cain-Poncebos Distance: 12 km Duration: 2-3 H Difficulty: Easy
20:00 H (*) Transfer back to the starting point. (*) Departure at 19:00 H (in winter) or at 20:00 H (in summer)
Route: Poncebos – Cangas or Arriondas. Displacement approx 45 min.

“Pick up in Caín ” 38 € / person

10:00 H You must leave the car in Poncebos to start hiking.
10:30 H 14:00 H Hiking Trail “ROUTE CARES” [unguided hiking trail]
14:00 H Arrival Cain
14:00 H 15:15 H Lunch
15:15 H-19: 30 H pickup 4 × 4 vehicles to the route in 4 x4 Pandetrave area and Aliva, traveling from south to north the Central Massif of the Picos de Europa, passing behind the Cable Car of Fuente De but not stopped.
19:30 H-20: 00 H Arrive Poncebos to pick up your car.

(*) It is possible to pick you up in Cangas de Onis and / or Arriondas and take you to Poncebos
SUPPLEMENT 5 € per person.

2.- TECHNICAL INFORMATION

LThe hiking trail is 12 km long. It is almost all flat, with some short slopes.
If you look you will see the Picos de Europa with more than 2000 meters below the Crystal River Cares, sometimes over 800 meters steep slope. The road is relatively wide and comfortable.
There are sections with natural tunnels and windows, but is generally open to the sky with incredible mountain landscapes.
Will cross the river 2 times, the bridge of the Rebecos and Bolín, in both cases we will see the bridge from above.

3.- HOURS

– Departure from Cangas de Onis at 10:00.
– Return at approximately 19:45 H (in winter) and 20:45 H (in summer).

4.- EQUIPMENT

– Sports shoes, hiking boots or trekking, warm clothes, a raincoat, sunscreen, sunglasses and water.

5.- TIPS

– We recommend bring a camera (it’s a great place to photograph), water and something to eat (snacks, chocolate, energy bars …)

You need to have minimum physical condition to walk 12 Km.

For its low difficulty the route can be performed by children from 8 years always accompanied by adults.
